When you have a cat, there are some specific things that you should know about to keep you cat Happy and Healthy:
Adults:
Feed them frequently, before you eat breakfast, and after you eat dinner. (Always wash your hands with soap and water for at least one minute after each feeding!!!!)
Every day pet and play with them as much as possible. This makes them feel good and be happy.
Kittens:
Depending on if it has a mother with it you have to do different things to keep it Healthy And Happy:
If there is no mother with it you will need a baby bottle, a small blanket, and open love.
Every two hours or so, you will need to take some kitten formula, put it in the bottle, shake it up and feed it until it stops suckling.
They should sleep for about half the day, and when they are not sleeping, you can teach them to walk or you can cuddle them. Kittens need a lot of love, and cuddling is a great way to give it to them.
If they can walk, you should play with them like as if they were attacking your hand or finger. Kittens really enjoy playing around. One of the best ways to play with it is play copy cat or fight with them as if in the wild. This helps them get stronger for when they are older. It also prepares them for life as an adult cat. It also just lets them have a bit of fun.
Dogs are a bit more difficult to cope with than cats. But they are good pets and can be very fun pets!
Adults:
With an adult dog, there are many things that you need to keep it happy and healthy.
You will need things like a leash to walk him because dogs need time outside, but you need a leash to keep him from running off, and in many cities, there are leash laws that dog owners have to abide by.
You will also need a lot of things that fall under the same category. You will need a lot of dog food and will need to feed it at LEAST four times a day. When you get up to have breakfast. When you break to have lunch. When you have dinner and before you go to bed. You will also need a container to put the dog food in. The bowls vary according to the size of the dog. And obviously, you need to give them sufficient amounts of water per day.
You will also need a good amount of space for the dog so that it is not cooped up in a small place all day. Dogs need room to run around.
It is clear that all animals need affection, especially dogs. Because if they are neglected or do not get enough human activity/contact, they can become vicious and rabid animals. The way a dog turns out, all depends on how it was brought up from a puppy.
Puppies:
Puppies don't really vary in the amount of work, it only varies in the kind of work that you put into it's care.
Puppies require the same basic needs as an adult dog does. But it needs a little more love and care than a big dog does. The way a dog turns out later on is based upon how it was raised as a puppy. It requires the decent amount of food and water in the same time frame as an adult, and it needs a little bit more rest and requires more "items" than an adult does, it needs more toys so that it learns how to play and interact with people. It needs to play with it's owner for the same reason.
You actually need a lot more things to take care of a fish then you think. You also need to do things that are really hard work.
There are numerous things that you need to do before buying your fish. You need to get some advise from the salesman at the store on how big of a tank that you should probably buy depending on the amount of fish you want. When that is covered, you might want to thing about getting a stand to tank onto, and if the stand is to expensive or you just don't like any of them. A nice dresser at home world probably do the trick. Now you probably want to spiffy up the tank with some nice colored rocks to put at the bottom of the tank, along with some fake underwater props with color of your choice.
You also need to buy food for your fish, feed them twice a day, at least. Once in the morning, once at night. Ask your local pet pharmacist what type of fish food yo might need for your breed of fish you have. Feeding times may vary with fish breed.
Cleaning your fishes tank can be a nasty job, you know what, is is a nasty job, that's where the fish uh... does it's bussiness. Ask your local pet pharmasist for instructins on cleaning your fish tank. Or you can look it up on the internet.
Birds are pretty easy to take care of, but there is a bit of work to be done in the preparations for your bird. First of all, you need to figure out what Kind of bid you want to have. The most common house birds are parakeets, canaries, finches, and cockatiels. Then you have to get a cage that fits your unique bird's characteristics.
You should put some saw dust on the botton of the cage (make sure that the cages stand shouldn't be an antique. Birds poop, pee, etc. like all other creatures do) for the bird. You should also get some toys, swings, perches and ladders for your bird to play on. The common house birds I mentioned earlier like to jump, climb etc.
The cage bars should at least be 3/8 to 1/2 inches apart so your bird cannot get out of get stuck and hurt it's self. Finches and cockatiels need room to fly fast but in short distances, and parakeets and canaries need room to climb. So for finches and cockatiels, you should get a few perches and a cage with good flying room. For parakeets and canaries, you should get a nice wide yet tall cage for some ladders as well as perches.
If you let your bird out nof it's cage sometimes, it is a priority to get it's wings clipped at your local pet doctor's office. You will know when it is time to get it's wings clipped when the bird starts get get some flight.
Birds take care of themselves for the most part, but that doesn't mean, they don't need people to take care ove them at least once a day. Feeding your bird is not hard, all you need to do is get som bird food from your local pet store or super market and then just put it in the cage with the water and other things.
You should clean the bird's cage at least once a week which includes exchanging the saw dust for new, clean saw dust, wiping off the swings, perches, ladders, the cage stand, and the cage its self.
